Phoenix canariensis phoenix
A love it or hate it plant. We love it and it is one of the reasons "Phoenix Gardens" has its name. Poor cultivation advice has given this plant a bad reputation but given the correct growing conditions it can be one of the most stunning palms you can grow in the UK. Small plants should be regarded as half hardy and will need some winter protection. Larger plants are much tougher. Full sun to partial shade. Keep very well watered and feed with a balanced fertiliser.
