Alocasia odorata alocasia
Very similar to Alocasia macrorrhiza (Giant Elephants Ear), but hardier. Very fast growing with rounder, large, waxy, crinkled, arrow shaped leaves. Likes plenty of water during the summer months and full to dappled shade. Tender.

Crinum powellii crinum
A hardy clump forming perennial looking very much like a dwarf Amaryllis. Long deep green strap like leaves grow from a large surface forming bulb. The flower spike can bear up to 20 individual deep pink flowers very similar if somewhat smaller to the Amaryllis lily. Hardy. Full sun to partial shade. Grow in a moist rich soil for best results. Keep well watered during the summer.

Crinum yemensis yemensis
Similar to Crinum moorei but with broad exotic looking leaves growing from a large surface forming bulb. The large white flowers are fragrant (particularly at night). Hardy in Southern England. Full sun to partial shade. Grow in a moist rich soil for best results. Keep well watered during the summer.

Heuchera "Palace Purple" heuchera
A hardy evergreen (well purple) clump forming perennial. Excellent at the front of a border or for underplanting taller plants. Hardy.

Hosta mixed hosta
A selection of Hostas all with shapely leaves and rich foliage colours. Leaf shapes and sizes vary, ranging from lance-shaped to almost circular, and from 13cm (5in) to more than 36cm (14in) long. Some are often deeply textured with prominent veins, and can be either matt or glossy. Leaf colour ranges from silver blue to rich deep green and yellow. Best grown in moist soil and in dappled or full shade. Hardy.

Kniphofia uvaria "Nobilis" kniphofia
A huge Kniphofia and probably the tallest. Originally from New Zealand, with long, lax leaves and big, bold spikes of dark orange flowers in late summer. Flower spikes can reach 3mtrs in optimum conditions. Best grown in fertile, moist but well-drained soil. Fully hardy.

Philodendron selloum philodendron
As with all Philodendron species this is a pretty undemanding plant. Large glossy deeply cut leaves top a woody trunk. Not totally hardy in the UK but worth giving a large plant a try in a sheltered site especially if the trunk is well mulched.Half hardy. Will need winter protection. Full sun to partial shade.Keep very well watered and feed with a high Nitrogen fertiliser during the summer months for best results. Note: all our plants withstood -6c/22f last winter (2007) and remained evergreen. The only damage occured to the new growth in April due to a late frost.

Swamp Lily, Lizard Tails.

Great plant for pond margins/ bog gardens or damp shade. Green sweetly scented heart shaped leaves with white pendulous flowers looking somewhat like lizard tails hence the common name.

Zephyranthes candida zephyranthes
(Fairy Lily) - This is a bulb with evergreen, rush-like foliage that forms a 1 foot tall and 2 feet wide clump. In the late summer and autumn, white tubular flowers with six petals bloom on stems that are as tall as the foliage. Grow in sun or part shade and water regularly. Canna iridiflora "Ehmannii"
Herbaceous perennial grown for its striking leaves and flowers. One of the largest and hardiest Cannas. This plant has dark-blue green leaves with red margins, and produces bright pinkish red flowers. Grow in a sheltered spot away from harsh winds. Water freely and apply a balanced fertiliser regularly. Half hardy.(Hardy if planted deeply and mulched over the winter). This plant does show some discolouration on the leaves which may give some cause for concern. This has been present on almost all of the Ehmanii I have ever seen and is not the symptom of an infected plant.
